TOOTEES ARCHIVES PAGE

These are some examples of some our work which were constructed for a local speed shop owner. Another example of our quality and service. The speed shop owner, campaigned one of the most competitive operations to race under the IHRA banner.  He had his first car constructed for drag racing by TOOTEES race cars. The car built during the mid eighties was a Pro stock style Monza. This car (see below) was destroyed at Darlington.. So once again he gave TOOTEES a call and ordered a new Pro style Corvette. This car was state of the art and demonstrated a phenomenal consistency, and like all the cars built by TOOTEES for him it is still being raced today by other owners.
Later he decided to try Top Dragster. and contracted TOOTEES to construct his first Top Dragster entry. While the car was earmarked for national competition, He decided to represent his home track in the traditional IHRA Bracket World Finals hosted by Thunder Valley Dragway in Bristol, Tn. he not only performed admirably (winning 11 rounds of competition), and he was also crowned Sunoco World Champion. This win only complimented a victory earlier in the season at the IHRA Summer Nationals, in Cayuga, ONT., Canada within the Top Dragster division. He added to his tally by winning at Bristol again, a year later during the IHRA Fall Nationals..
When he returned in 1998 with his first full season as a two car team team under the IHRA sanction. He captured two WCS wins and reached two national events. He ended the season with a second place finish in the Top Dragster points.

  Go Devil.

. . This racer has had 4 cars constructed  us. The first , a Monza.  He raced it with much success before a faithful day at Darlington. He was on a good pass and in the lights when the crankshaft broke and split the cylinder block. The car was at speed of approximately 160 MPH when she made a hard move to the rail due to the oil from the broken engine. This was a ride you would not soon forget, the car started to disassemble itself with shards of fiberglass and aluminum flying like leaves in the breeze. Some of the hot oil got in the car and the driver had some seat belt burns that were beauty's. But when the car came to rest he was ok, the same however could not be said for the Monza, which was history. The driver  lived to tell the tale and we are proud to know that when the test came our work passed, and knowing his wife and  kids makes this fact especially important because we want each one we build to be just that safe. (see below). . The next car was a Corvette and this car was consistent beyond belief. having won a two day race at Carolina with times of 5.95 with a 0 , on four different passes in both lanes. To say that she would repeat is an understatement. . Then there was the dragster. this car was a top contender in its class and still runs today in T/D. The car was a Pontiac with a glide and would run in the low 7s.

CONGRATULATIONS!

TO  THE IHRA 1999
TOP DRAGSTER WORLD CHAMPION.

This former no.1 racer in IHRA Top Dragster,Chooses TOOTEES when he needs help. Always on the road he needs help fast and he gets it at TOOTEES. Having recently had a span-loader installed ,his car picked up in ET and MPH and he experienced a common problem with some cars ,the uprights in the front of the car were always cracking. This was annoying and dangerous,so he had TOOTEES install his high -flex uprights and the problem was solved. The driver  also felt that the car could benefit from one of TOOTEES hand made wings for the back of the car to help the high speed stability. This was custom made to his specs and installed over night so he could make the next race. When completed  goes straight from TOOTEES to the runner up spot at the IHRA race at Epping!
