8/6/2000. To TOOTEES: "Just thought I'd send you guys an up date.... Super Chevy Sunday, Though the SCS wouldn't let us compete in the Nitro Coup, they let us make few runs in the show. The driver ran his best time at a 6.62 on alcohol surpassing most of the nitro Q.T's. The following week took us to Capital MD. for a Northeast Pro Mod Shoot out, were Sal battled an extremely poor track conditions to qualify number one. Later in the evening he, the only blown car at the event, pounded the big money NO2 cars into the final round which was not run because a 12:00 curfew spoiled the probable victory. The following week took us to Lebanon Raceway's Night Of Fire, Super Slammers. The driver/owner considers this to be his home track In front of packed grandstands filled with friends and relatives Sal qualified third in a super tough field of no rules NO2 and blower cars. The first round Sal ran a by, after the NO2 Corvette lined up next to him and had a NO2 explosion. The Neon Ground Shaker still ran a good number at a 6.82. The second round was his stiffest competition. Ron Ianody, the number one qualifier @ 6.58. Sal caught Ron napping at the line to win his most important win at that point. At the end of the return road Ron asked Sal, " How does it feel to beat the 'Baddest Boy' Here" Sal replied with his arms in the air 'IT FEELS GREAT!!' The third and final round Sal went up against Jim Cane, who just ran his best time ever a 6.77 the previous round, This was the round to end all rounds. As both of the cars left, Sal cut an incredible 4.22 light to a 6.68 beating Cane's 6.67. Us, the crew, and the fans went nuts. This was the closest race of the night and the best race of a of our lives. We have a great car and a great driver and we're out to kill em. Hope you liked my commentary, update you soon."
