The
following is based on actual events...4 link or hard tail? Consider
this the next time someone tells you a 4 link is better than a hard
tail. A former customer of mine had a standard 235" TOOTEES
"span loader", bracket Top Dragster type car, deadly
consistent, and the proof of that hanging in his shop is one of
those big fancy show checks, the kind you see on TV, in the amount of
$20,000.00, and having been won by our dragster at one race. Now this
customer was told that 4 links were better, and even would be
lighter, which is difficult to understand, but this is what he was
told. So he bought one, and put the car I built up for sale, but
before that, all the running gear and drive train was transferred to
the new 4 link car. Result...the new car was a half a second slower
than
our "span loader" car, and likely costs twice as
much to build. It is now for sale and there are no show checks
hanging on the wall that it won. Kinda makes you wonder if the higher
cost of a 4 link car is worth it..

"Hi guys, thought I would drop
you a line. My name is Jim and I live in Connecticut. I saw an
add in national dragster for a Tootees 125 inch wheelbase 23t altered
which was built in 1994. I have been racing a 1968 camaro
in ss/t.... well I decided to go a little faster!!! I purchased
the 23t altered you built as a roller and finished it up with
my motor etc...... well I went to Lebanon dragway in n.y. and took a
shot at my license runs. Not being familiar with the car and
not going this quick before I proceeded,... I am writing to tell you
I ran the mandatory six passes and your car gave me complete
confidence after the very first pass. The car went perfectly
STRAIGHT and hooked good enough to give me a 1.21 sixty
foot time. thanks to the car you guys built , yes I do now have
a s/c license....WOW THAT WAS FUN!!! any way thanks
for building such a great car and am looking forward to a full season
of racing next year a foot note: I am the second
owner of this car that was built in 1994 and the previous owner had
